The goal of this web site is to provide information that will help improve accountability of local governments by providing meaningful comparative data about the financial positions and results of operations of most of the towns, counties and cities in Virginia .  The site contains data for fiscal years between 2002 and 2007 where available. 

The information on the web site was obtained from the government-wide statements contained in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFRs) on the local governments.  To improve comparability among governments, certain information was reclassified for this web site.  Click here for a list of reclassifications and assumptions.
